Local tragedies rock my world

Some heavy news is weighing on my heart.

After reading this poem from Benighted, I felt the pull to write about it.

Benighted’s poem doesn’t necessarily describe what I am feeling but it was that last line that stood out to me.

I gently remind you that all we have is tonight.

While the poem is most likely about romantic love, I believe that poetry can be interpreted in many ways.

A double tragedy

When something happens to a child or teenager in our town, it rocks everyone's world. I am sure it’s like that in your area, too. Although any death or near-death experience from any age would rock our worlds, it’s the younger people that hit the hardest.

Last year, two brothers were killed instantly on their way to high school. They were hit head-on by another truck. They didn’t have their seatbelts on.
