Can You Put Yourself in the Worn-Out Shoes of a Homeless Person?
Our society needs more empathy and less judgment
“Who are we as human beings if we ignore the suffering of others.” — Sushil Jain
I’ve been reading The Salt Path slow, just like Raynor and Moth tackle their 630-mile walk on the South West Coast Path in England. Actually, I’ve been taking life slower in general than I usually do.
By stopping to appreciate the smaller things in life, it’s easier to be grateful for what you have. Through every word of the book, I feel so much gratitude for the life I have, not taking it for granted.
If you haven’t been following along, a group of Medium writers is reading The Salt Path simultaneously and writing about it along the way. You can read about it here, and also my last entry from chapters 1–3.
