Contemplating Changing my Medium Name

After I listened to a podcast about a sober writer with a catchy name, I decided to start my writing and “living out loud” sobriety journey.

In January, I created my Medium account and my synonymous website, Instagram, and Twitter, and set up a Google profile all in the same name.

I wanted a catchy name to describe me. Although now, I think I labeled myself.

At the time, I liked it but I am outgrowing it here on Medium.

I’ve been contemplating changing it for a few months but then I have doubts.

I like to overthink things.

What if people don’t recognize or remember me?

Do I care enough about that?

Most of my Medium friends do know me by my real first name but some still call me SVY, which is fine, that is my Medium name.

Also, I don’t want to just write about sobriety and healthy living. I still want to write about those topics but I have a wide variety of interests and thoughts to share.

I did start writing my memoir recently. Granted it is only a few pages, but it is a start.
