Drowning it out and numbing.

When that lover rejected me at age 20, I couldn’t handle the pain. I went out and got drunk and slept with someone just to stop that wound in my gut from getting bigger. The darkness within wanted to swallow me whole. Devour all of me. Make me disappear.
