The path to my latest career choice

Helping others has always made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I think that is why I wanted to be a nurse. In 2015, I took all the pre-requisites to get into nursing school. Biology, Chemistry, Human Anatomy, Microbiology…. You get the gist.

Then, it was time to apply to get into nursing school, which is especially impacted here in California. Sadly, since I don’t speak a second language and didn’t have experience in the field, there were many points against me.

I was denied.

Ok, fine. I’ll dust myself off and try again.

Denied.

So, I found a job at an Alzheimer’s facility for work experience points on my application. I got very comfortable and didn’t try again.

Years before nursing, I was a real estate agent and a wanna-be chef. Clearly, I’ve changed my mind too many times. But, who cares anyway! So what if you change your mind 10 more times while you are alive. I’ll just think of it as “Change is growth”.

What I’m here to say is that my passions have changed during my life. In my 20s, I was in college studying to be a broadcast journalist but quickly changed my major to criminology.
