I have two girls - almost 19 and 16. I felt similar when my oldest was a senior and about to head off to school. I lost my shit when I dropped her off and was so sad when I got home. BUT, she has been home twice and things have drastically changed. She watches tv with me most nights and doesn't look at her phone. I can hardly believe it!! LOL!

My 16 year old is off having fun and it doesn't bother me now. She'll come back. Yours will come back, too. I think 16-18 is when they just want to be with their friends or boy/girlfriend. I know that is what I wanted to do when I was their age, too. It took me longer to come back but around 21, I realized that my parents are always going to be the ones that have my back.
