I love this.

My focus was on my little chicks, not my employment situation. They kept me focused on getting up and greeting those feathery miracles each morning. Building a safe enclosure for them in their new garden home kept me busy rather than being depressed. There was simply no time for feeling hopeless or shutting myself off from the world.
