Ilona! Wow, it's hard to know what to say but I relate to this way too much! My step-dad also stayed with my crazy mom until he hit his breaking point. I do wonder why they stick around and deal with the abuse for that long. Not that I condone that behavior, but I would have wanted to do the same thing to your mom if I was your dad!! So very sad that this interfered with his treatment of illness. I am so sorry. <3
