It's so interesting to me that we manipulate our voices for the phone and to express empathy, among other things. I also find it fascinating that people change their voices based on their sexuality. I was talking to my daughter, who is gay, about that the other day. We were wondering when that all started. I could have looked it up but then we got on another tangent and forgot until reading this.

I hate my voice and talking on the phone and try to manipulate it when I do. I bet most people have a "phone voice".
