It’s So Sad to See a Senior Dog in Pain
Poor little Wendy the wiener dog
My sweet girl, Wendy, is 12 years old and started having senior health problems earlier this year.
Last night, her face started to puff up and her eye was so swollen. She didn’t eat and could hardly function.
Off to the veterinarian, we went today to spend all of our savings. When we get another puppy, I will definitely purchase pet insurance.
The last time we were there, 9 months ago, they did a full dental cleaning and extracted two small teeth. I really thought I was being a good dog mama!
Today, they informed me that she has a severe dental disease that is causing an abscess in her mouth, resulting in her inflamed cheek and eye.
They were able to give her antibiotics and a pain reliever to ease the pain until we can get her in for surgery on Monday.
Luckily, the medications are working and she can function a little easier than this morning when she could barely walk. She hasn’t eaten anything since Thursday night.
I really hope that she will be able to eat tonight because I have more medication to give her. And, if you are a dog parent, you know how difficult that can be.
