I've never seen teachers vilified in the media, but I don't watch much of it. That annoys me so much! Most teachers I've known are selfless, loving people that do go the extra mile. Of course, there are the bad seeds, too and my daughters had their share of those. But, most of them were old in their defense and maybe just over it after teaching for so many years, LOL! Kids can get annoying!! :)

My two very good friends are SDC teachers and they are truly the best people!!
