An untamed savage in Mexico

It was spring break of 1996 and being that my friends and I were 18 years old and wanting to party, we thought it would be a good idea to jaunt down to Mexico for a few days.

The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old, so of course, my party crew wanted to see what the streets of Tijuana were all about. If you live in Southern California, you often hear about others who have been to Tijuana.

It was an easy, close destination for teenagers looking to party. We were always after the next big party. I was a wild child and I surrounded myself with others that loved to party.

A group of my friends, five of us to be exact, headed down to Mexico the day after Easter. Our first stop was Tijuana for the night and then we would head to Rosarito.

Our suitcases were full of mini bikinis, party dresses, and hidden drugs in our purses. Yes, remember I was a wild child. I was invincible with no care in the world.

If you haven’t been to Tijuana, save yourself from the debauchery. Even at 18, I thought it was pretty gross.

We checked into our disgusting motel that was close to ‘Squid Row’ which was the name of the street with all the bars on it.
