And, that is not an apology at all. 25 years and your kids are old enough that they have had enough birthdays... she would surely know around what dates they are celebrating.

She sounds miserable. If she only wants to talk shit on other people, I'd be out, too! Wow, just wow. This makes me sad for you but you tried and that's all you could do but I wouldn't tolerate that friendship any longer. Sometimes we hang on because they have been our friends for X amount of years. I know I have done that but have also distanced myself from the ones that don't make me feel good after being around them.
