“The only thing sweeter than union is reunion.” — Kathleen McGowan

My daughter stepped off the plane yesterday afternoon on the west coast after a long day of traveling from the east.

She is home for Thanksgiving week here in California and I couldn’t be happier. The look when I saw her exiting the airport and hurrying to hug me made me feel as if I did something right amongst all of the wrongs.

We laughed as she ripped her coat off exclaiming that it was hot. 75 degrees compared to 40 is quite a change.

I wasn’t able to find any direct flights from her local airport to anywhere in Southern California, which was bizarre. This was her first time flying alone and she had to switch planes in Denver with only 30 minutes to spare.

She was really nervous and her calls and texts about it gave me glimpses back to my baby girl. Although she is technically an adult, she is still young to me.
