Santa Doesn’t Deserve All The Credit

Creating Christmas joy as a mother by doing less this year

Where does all the joy come from at your house during Christmas? Who makes it happen? It sure isn’t Santa!

The hoopla of Christmas gets me every time. The stress, the pressure, and the long to-do list make me want to curl up into a little ball.

Oh, the magic of Christmas.

It all falls on me. I am sure I am not alone in that regard.

The baking, gingerbread houses, decorations, presents and moving the damn elf around every single night.

Don’t even get me started on that damn elf. Why did I buy that thing in the first place? I knew I would have to come up with elaborate schemes and scour Pinterest for hours to create that extra magic.

That is the joy of Christmas created by moms.

Ok, I shouldn’t say moms, I know there are single dads and other family members that step in.

At first, it was great. I loved creating the magic, pretending to be Santa, and making sure everyone had the best day.
