Should You Call 911?

What do you do when you see someone driving under the influence?

Yesterday, I was driving to my hairstylist and I was behind a very old minivan, probably from 1990. I’m not sure how it passed a smog test because it was blowing exhaust out the back, looking like a fire.

We are inundated with smog here in Southern California, so things like this infuriate me. How could you be so neglectful of our environment?

Anyway, the minivan starts swerving. It’s 9 AM and even though, I’ve been there a few times in my life, I rolled my eyes in disgust.

Why do I think I am any better than this person? I really needed to check myself at that moment and not be so judgmental.

The minivan is about to turn left and I pull up beside it, as I was going straight. The older lady driving was clearly under the influence, and I am guessing heroin because she was nodding but I could be wrong.

Flabergasted at the moment, I didn’t know what to do. Do I call the police right now? Or, just go about my day?

She could kill someone, so I decided better be safe than sorry. If I didn’t call and she killed someone, I would feel partly responsible.

I called 911 and gave a description and part of the plate because I didn’t write…
