A sandy beach in San Diego, nicknamed PB, became the stomping ground for my friends and me at the naive, yet ripe age of 21. I’d just dropped out of San Jose State University and followed my roommate back to her hometown.

We moved in together, each of us bringing a high school friend to share the apartment with. Splitting the rent four ways seemed like the smart thing to do.

I mean, a few of us didn’t even have jobs yet!

My friend, Stephanie, and Brandie’s friend, Christina, hit it off instantly and we knew we would all have a great time together.

We got all situated in our place first and the main priority was to find where the party was at. We started out around our apartment, which was within walking distance of San Diego State University.

We picked a place in that area because we were planning on starting classes at the community college and transferring to SDSU once we had enough credits. It made sense to get an apartment close by. But, we enrolled in our classes and only went to a few.

As I said, the main priority was to find a party. Any party. Any night. We were game for any of it.
