The Power of a Beautiful Sunset
Sometimes we need to get out and explore the beauty around us
The sky broke like an egg into full sunset and the water caught fire. ~Pamela Hansford Johnson
Sunsets are magical.
After dinner on Saturday night, my husband and I decided to walk down the pier.
The air was crisp and the wind calmed which made for a perfect evening stroll.
As the sun began to set, we sat on a quiet bench to soak in the beauty. We weren’t the only ones down there because most people love watching the sunset, especially on a weekend.
We began reflecting and reminiscing about all the times we brought our daughters down to the very spot to watch.
When the sun gets closer to setting, we all stop in our tracks. It’s a short window to see the magic happen.
Usually, your eyes only witness this wonder for 2–5 minutes. With our busy, hectic days here in California, 2–5 minutes is nothing.
It’s a good reminder to stop and enjoy these small, fleeting moments and even better to experience them with someone you love.
