Way too many people die young from suicide around here, too. I hear often about people jumping from parking garages lately. Many are way too young. There is so much pressure. I am really feeling it right now through my high school senior and just the expectations that she puts on herself. She comes home and feels "dumb" if she gets an 85% in her AP Statistics class. I laughed at that the other day and told her I would guarantee myself to not know how to do any of her homework and that a B is so good. But, all the peers are in some dumb competition so that they can look the coolest with the best college sweatshirt come the end of the year.

Sigh. You have been the best thing for your kids - to let them take charge of their own lives in whatever way they please - not fitting a mold of what everyone else is doing.
