We are planning a trip to Japan for my daughter's high school graduation present.

… a Japanese one, I can tell the difference by language (having lived for awhile in both countries). But I guess the real difference is that Japanese tourists usually don’t get dressed up like a geisha to wander around the city. Unless they happen to be an actual geisha.
