Wow! I can see she would feel free!!

With the death of her husband in 1910, Gertrude Käsebier was able to follow her interests unimpeded by her opinionated spouse. She also went on to assist other women who were interested in the art of photography because she saw this as a route to financial freedom for other women just as it had been for her. The image below gives her thoughts and feelings about marriage, and likely her own marriage to Eduard Käsebier with whom she had three children.
