With their produce on their backs they hiked from the mountains of Panguna, all the way to Arawa, barefoot, sold their goods to us, and after a few conversations with their wantoks (their friends) and a sharing of betel nuts, (the reason for their super-red gums), they would do the same journey all the way back. All conducted with the widest of smiles.
